Podría comerme el cielo como una manzana

Anne Sexton - La Furia de las Puestas de Sol

La Furia de las Puestas de Sol

Algo
frío hay en el aire,
un aura de hielo
y flemas.
Todo el día construí
una vida y ahora
el sol se hunde para
deshacerla.
El horizonte sangra
y se chupa el dedo.
El pequeño dedo rojo
desaparece de vista.
Y me pregunto acerca
de esta vida conmigo misma,
este sueño que vengo viviendo.
Podría comerme el cielo
como una manzana
pero prefiero
preguntarle a la primera estrella:
¿por qué estoy acá?
¿por qué vivo en esta casa?
¿quién es responsable,
eh?

The Fury of Sunsets

Something
cold is in the air,
an aura of ice
and phlegm,
All day I’ve built
a lifetime and now
the sun sinks to
undo it.
The horizon bleeds
and sucks its thumb.
The little red thumb
goes out of sight.
And I wonder about
this lifetime with myself,
this dream I’m living.
I could eat the sky
like an apple
but I’d rather
ask the first star:
why am I here?
why do I live in this house?
who’s responsible?
eh?

Lunes por la madrugada...

Yo cierro los ojos y veo tu cara
que sonríe cómplice de amor...
