Alberto Godoy

Born in Cuba in 1960, painter Alberto Godoy, fled the oppression of his native country in 1980. However, he brought with him to the United States vivid memories of his Carribbean Homeland - which are reflected in his bold, colorful, warm-hued, and exotic images. In a body of recent works, Godoy has embraced symbolic folkloric themes depicting scene from everyday historical Cuban life.
